A week ago, my wife and I were doing some shopping at a local thrift store. My wife quickly ran off to look at clothing and household appliances, while I headed over to the stacks of used vinyl. One of the offerings that I found, was "FIRST TAKE" by ROBERTA FLACK. This 1969 masterpiece contains the hit, "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", as well as seven other lush tracks, all performed with her Jazz quartet. As I listen, there is only one word I can use to describe this great record...
